In fact, I find non church people to be more kind and understanding in the face of being wronged. there are exceptions, of course in both cases. The pastor is teaching a sermon on Christians loving other Christians. Is not that the corner stone of the faith. He should not have to teach a sermon on that.
Christians have the same pursuits as non christians. A comfortable place to live. Enough money to enjoy yourself. Two cars. In some cases extreme wealth. If Christians really believed what is in the bible, we would sell everything, purchase an old, crappy truck and fifth wheel and travel the county making sure people don't go to hell.
I rather enjoy unchurched people. I enjoy certain "churched" people as well. Just cut the crap church people. Quit being so psuedo- spiritual. The world puts you to shame.
I was at church camp this summer playing music for the kids. One session, the teacher was talking about sin. Of all the bad things such as lying, stealing, talking bad about your friends, fighting with no purpose, not loving your fellow human being, what does the speaker pick....smoking. The grandest of all sins. Give me a break. We split churches and treat people terribly, but by golly nobody smokes or drinks. Praise the Lord what a good christian.
The world doesn't hate you because of Christ, they hate you because of you. I hear it constantly from unchurched people.
Well, I'm done. I'm sure I have been guilty of these things in the past. I hope not again. And no, I am not selling my house and traveling, telling people how to avoid hell.

So very true Peter! And so very sad! I just had a conversation Friday with a couple at Katie's daycare. They have the greatest kids, twins, and they have been the best family and the greatest encouragement to Katie and me. Katie had a very bad day Friday with another parent and Vie, mother of the twins, hugged Katie and just lifted her spirits with her encouragement and support. She ALWAYS does this. She is always offering to help Katie in any way and has never been critical even if one of her kids gets hurt at the daycare. Nothing but support! I thanked her for being with and sticking with the daycare and she gave me a hug and said she'd have it no other way. She likes her kids getting to hear the bible stories in school and learning what Christmas is about. Oh did I mention that Vie and her...partner are gay? SACRELIGIOUS!!! We've had "christians" tell us we should shun them and bar them from the daycare because we are doing nothing but condoning their lifestyle! Yeah, that will show them Christ's love! Their kids will hear the bible that way! Katie has been treated terribly by parents and workers who are outspoken "christians", even going to our church. Treated like crap dude! And Vie keeps loving and encouraging while the "christians" keep gossiping and judging. Do they read and not understand scripture like in 1 Peter 4:17 when Peter says it's time for judgment to start with the church FIRST. It starts there! James tells us to look in the mirror but that most christians look at their reflection in the mirror but when they walk away they forget what they were looking at! In Revelation Jesus is standing at the door knocking to get in...He's knocking at the CHURCH'S door wanting to get in!!!! Not an unbelievers heart like we've been taught for years. Keep it in context, Jesus is writing to the churches! Pete, I'm there with you! Thanks for speaking your heart and mind!
